Wetherington GCC History
Established in 1991 and opened for play in 1992, Wetherington was built on 450 acres of rolling farm and forest land. Our championship course was developed by Great Traditions and designed by Arthur Hills, one of the country’s most sought after architects. Arthur Hills is one of the premier golf course designers worldwide and was voted architect of the year in 2002. The Wetherington course design is a superb fulfillment of Hills commitment to traditional values. Five lakes, deep ravines and wooded hillsides give the land exceptional natural beauty, which Hills has enhanced with sculptured land forms and bunkering.
Wetherington is owned by members and operated by a Board of Directors and General Manager. You will find our original clubhouse, The Lodge, next to our swim and tennis facilities. The 20,000 square foot main clubhouse was built in 1994, houses locker rooms, pro shop, club-class dining and banquet rooms, and an outdoor restaurant (a later addition). |
